SansBug Net Pop Up Tent Review

This is the 1 personal tarp floor SansBug mosquito net popup tent.

Setting up this tent is honestly one of the easiest things I have done while camping. Simply unzip the carry case. Remove the elastic from the folded tent. And carefully allow the tent to pop open.

This tent is free standing and pops open instantly into shape.  The poles are built in, which is extremely helpful. The dimension are 86 inches long, which is roughly a usable length of 6 feet. And 39 inches wide by 35 inches high. There are 2 and 3-person tent options if needing a longer net.

The tarp floor is waterproof, but I highly recommend placing a ground tarp underneath for the extra protection.

Setting up this tent honestly took me a fraction of the time compared to when I set up my 3-person dome tent or 1-person pup tent. 

I’m also using the rainfly for this model, which will turn the net tent into a fully function tent for any of the elements.  The material for this rain fly is Ripstop fabric, which the same fabric most of your hammocks are made of. All the seams are taped which will ensure that water will not drip inside if mother nature decides to rain on your campout.

Last year, during our weeklong scout camp, while sleeping in a spring bar tent, we had a visit from a mouse who found that the front zipper was not fully closed, and took the invitation to come on in.  I would have had more piece of mind during that experience if I would have had the SansBug net popup tent. The netting of this tent combined with the tarp floor is the perfect combination to keep out mosquitos, sand flies, bed bug nymphs, spiders, snakes, scorpions, mice and any other creepy crawlies that want to pay you a visit while camping.

Closing the tent back into its circle shape is a little tricky the first couple of times you do it. Simply follow the instructions that are included with your tent along with watching the detailed how-to video on SansBug.com.  Use caution when bending the poles as they are made from fiberglass and can splinter if placed under the wrong type of pressure.

In all honesty, the SansBug pop up tent combined with the SansBug rainfly is my new go-to setup for all the monthly overnight and weeklong scout camps our troop goes on.
