How To Shoot With Bow and Arrow

Each Thursday I like to take a look in the library at some of the scout handbooks from prior years.  This one comes out of the 1976 printing of the Bear Cub Scout Book.

How To Shoot With Bow and Arrow

Hold bow level and lay arrow across it, touching your forefinger. Nock arrow with cock feather turned up. Face target sideways. As you raise bow to straight-up shooting position, take aim and draw string back until hand touches chin. Keep your left arm stiff. Release arrow smoothly by opening string fingers quickly.
