Lower Pine Creek Hike

Located within Zion National Park, just past the Canyon Junction on Route 9, this family friendly, short in-n’-out hike will have you crossing pine creek, scrambling boulders, and enjoying a 10 foot waterfall. The total distance is just under a mile. Parking is limited to about 10 cars. If you are taking the shuttle into the park, it’s about a quarter mile hike from the stop at the junction.

Follow the trail east. Eventually the trail will turn into rocks and boulders. You will reach the waterfall as long as you follow the creek. One trail marker that worked for us was a fallen tree that seems to be folded at the base. Another, was the giant boulder that you crawl under. Use good judgment when scrambling on slick rock. Especially with little ones. This trail is not accessible with strollers or wheelchairs. There is a trash can at the trail head, but other than that there are no facilities. Pack it in, pack it out.

Have fun exploring!
