Musical Instruments

When I was in middle school, I remember going to band class for the first time.  The first week was boring. We didn't even touch our instruments. Instead l we first learned how to keep a beat by clapping in unison and blowing into our mouth pieces.  Finally, the day came that we were actually going to start using our instruments. Mine was my Father's trombone that he played in high school and college. It is an Olds Recording, the same model of trombone that Glen Miller use to play. As we assembled our instruments, I quickly realized that mine was one of the larger sized brass instruments! "What have I done?! This thing is bigger than me!" The notes at the end of the slide were a little difficult to reach with my 11 year old arms.  But I grew to love playing that trombone.

It was during this class that we learned about different types of musical instruments and how instruments were grouped into sections.  Listed, in no specific order, are five different groups of musical instruments.
